Best new shows coming to Fox
By Sandy C.
Fox mercilessly axed many of their shows, breaking the hearts of millions of fans! But it’s all to make room for new upcoming series!
After what is now being called Fox’s bloodbath, it’s time to see what new shows will surface from the ashes of the canceled series at the network. Cancellations include Lucifer, The Mick, Last Man on Earth, The Exorcist, and even Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Of course, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, starring Andy Samberg and Terry Crews, didn’t stay canceled for too long. The comedy was soon picked up by NBC. So that’s good news! And, to be fair, Fox is not the only network who has delivered bad news. ABC, NBC, and CBS also joined in.
Enough of the bad news, though, when one show ends, another one begins. Which new shows are coming to Fox this fall season? Below are the three we’re most looking forward to checking out…
Rel
Coming this fall is family comedy Rel, from producers Lil Rel Howery, Kevin Barnett, and Josh Rabinowitz. Executive producers are Mike Scully and Jerrod Carmichael and director Gery Cohen. Rel stars Lil Rel, Angel Parker, Jessica Moore, Edward James Gage, and Jordan L. Jones. The comedy is inspired by real events that happened to Lil Rel, and follows Rel as a single father in Chicago going through a divorce. Will Rel bring the laughs to Fox as its hit comedy?

Launching mid-season is the epic thriller The Passage, from executive producers Ridley Scott, Matt Reeves, and Liz Heldens. The series is set to star Saniyya Sidney, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Vincent Piazza, Brianne Howey, and Jamie McShane.
The series is based on Justin Cronin’s best-selling trilogy. The Passage follows Amy Bellafonte (Sidney), a 10-year-old girl chosen as the test subject for an experiment of a virus that could either cure all known diseases or “cause the downfall of the human race.” Federal agent Brad Wolgast (Gosselaar) becomes her surrogate father after he decides to protect her instead of turning her in.
If you’re into dramas with a supernatural element, The Passage is the one to watch.
Proven Innocent
Are legal dramas your go-to shows on TV? Fox is debuting Proven Innocent, from Empire co-creator Danny Strong and writer David Elliot. It is set to premiere mid-season. The series revolves around Rachelle Lefevre, a criminal defense attorney who works for a wrongful-conviction firm. Lefevre’s character was wrongfully found guilty herself, which is what her motivation is to help others. Proven Innocent also stars Nikki M. James, Russell Hornsby, and Riley Smith.
