Supernatural Season 13 finale cliffhanger: Expect the setup for Jensen Ackles’ new character
Since Jensen Ackles shared that he would get to play someone other than Dean, fans have taken to the past episodes to look for clues as to who it would be. You’ll definitely find out in the final moments of the Supernatural Season 13 finale cliffhanger.
As with any finale in the show, the Supernatural Season 13 finale cliffhanger is going to be a major thing. It’s going to set up the next season, leaving us wondering all summer what will come next. And while we know that Supernatural will continue in its Thursday night slot, we don’t quite know when exactly it will return.
Right now, we just know one thing: by the final moments of the finale, we will definitely know more about this mysterious character Jensen Ackles gets to play. It’s a question we’ve all had since Ackles mentioned that he finally gets to do what his co-stars have already done.

There are certainly many theories going around. We’ve broken down the potential characters and my main theory is that it will be Michael. After all, there’s that snippet at the end of the promo that shows Dean and Lucifer flying in the air to do battle with each other.
This isn’t the only storyline the cliffhanger will introduce. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ackles said that “there’s a lot going on” in this finale. This shouldn’t be that surprising since Heaven is still crumbling, we have two warring archangels coming through the rift (again), Apocalypse Bobby and his motley crew still need to do their research and take down their archangel, and there are so many questions about Gabe. This has been a jam-packed season and that feeling has to continue into the finale.
"At this point, Dean is willing to do whatever it takes. That’s the one recurring themes with these brothers is that they will go to the ends [of the earth], not just to fight the good fight but certainly for each other, and we see that toward the end of the episode.There’s a little something at the end that sets up what we’re going to do in season 14, and it has to do with me playing another character. That’s one of the cliffhangers, but there’s a lot going on.–Jensen Ackles"
All we do know is that we’ll at least get to see who this character is that Ackles will get to play.
