5 things to do to prepare to rewatch Supernatural Season 3
We’re moving onto a rewatch of Supernatural Season 3. Here are five things to get ready for your rewatch.
Now that we’ve looked back at Supernatural Season 2 and we’re just at the start of Hellatus, we need to find something to do. What better than watching Supernatural Season 3 for what will feel like the (enjoyable) millionth time. This remains one of my favorite seasons of all time, only just recently being pipped for the #1 spot.
It’s the shortest season of all because of the writer’s strike that took place in 2007-2008. However, the shorter season can help with keeping the story focused on saving Dean from his Hell deal. Before you start to rewatch Supernatural Season 3, make sure you do these five things.
Get a quick refresher of the second season

When was the last time you watched the second season? For us it was just the other week, but for others it could have been years. You’ll need a quick refresher of the events that happened to join us in this rewatch of the third season. Just remember, John made a deal to save Dean’s life and now Dean had made a deal to save Sam’s life. Azazel is gone but thousands of demons broke free from Hell.
Open your mind to the characters
You’ve likely already formed opinions about various characters on the show. Try to go into this season with a completely fresh and open mind. Give Bela Talbot and Ruby fresh chances this season. Part of the disappointment of Bela was linked to the writer’s strike. The writers came back and had to finish Bela’s story in fewer episodes than they would have initially needed or wanted, so definitely remember that–and that she was 14 when she made that deal.

Look out for things you missed
Something I love to do on a rewatch of the seasons is to look out for the things I’ve missed before. When you rewatch Supernatural Season 3, you may be surprised at the lines of dialogue you forgot about or the bits of lore you’d missed. You may even be surprised at some of the guest stars. Look out for something new in each episode.
Watch out for ad-libbed moments
Supernatural Season 3 has one of my favorite ad-libbed moments in the whole series. I’ll share what that is when we get to the specific episode, but it involves Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. There are a few ad-libbed moments in the season, so get ready to watch out for them.
Be prepared to laugh
The third season is one of the funniest in my opinion (and that maybe one of the reasons I love it so much). Get ready to laugh consistently throughout this season, whether you’re watching “Bad Day at Black Rock” or “A Supernatural Christmas.” Both Sam and Dean have excellent and memorable moments.
