Lucifer season 4: Writers plotting new Netflix episodes
Although Lucifans are still basking in the excitement of the last minute resurrection of Lucifer by Netflix, it appears that for the crew, it is back to business as usual in preparation for the highly anticipated season 4 of Lucifer.
Co-producer Ildy Modrovich has already posted on Twitter that Lucifer will remain filming at Warner Brothers in Los Angeles. In addition, she added they planned the first writer’s room Monday, just a few days following the announcement that Netflix saved Lucifer.
Clearly, showrunners Modrovich and Joe Henderson are not stopping to pop the champagne corks and bask in the joy that Lucifer was saved. Instead, they appear ready to prove to fans and perhaps even Netflix that the show was worthy of being saved–and maybe even stake their intention to keep the show running beyond season 4!
As we previously reported, Henderson had already spoken to the Word Balloon podcast, immediately after the Fox cancellation, to discuss some of the plot lines that they planned to flesh out for season 4.
Besides the storylines, including the highly anticipated reaction of Chloe to Lucifer’s devil face, there could be some other changes to the show now it is on Netflix. Going from network television to this streaming platform, there could be some limitations, yet also some freedom that could dramatically change the look of the show.

TVLIne reported that Lucifer season 4 on Netflix will have 10 episodes, which was something Hidden Remote previously shared. This has not been confirmed or discussed by anyone from the Lucifer camp. If this is true, this could be a limitation.
On one hand, the episodes could be close to 10 minutes longer, as there are no commercial breaks. Aa 10-episode season 4, which could very possibly be the final season, is going to require a lot more focus on Chloe and Lucifer, possibly taking away storylines from other characters. Then there is the freedom of losing the network rules.
Now that Lucifer could use stronger language, violence and even throw in some more explicit love scenes. One of the talents that this skillful cast and crew have certainly accomplished is the sensual and opulent decadence of Lux under the stringent rules of network television. Could some of the possible new discussions around the writer room eventually mean Bacchanalian orgies or even a full frontal Tom Ellis? Or will they choose to continue to tease the imagination of fans with witty dialogue, sultry singing, and smoldering glances? Those are some of the many decisions that the writers may have to make.
Meanwhile, instead of disclosing more info on the Netflix deal, the cast and crew have instead been spouting their love to Lucifans who have worked tirelessly to keep their favorite show on the air.

Renaissance man Tom Ellis, complete with devil horns, sang a song of thanks to those who made Lucifer season 4 on Netflix happen.
Fans that are attending this year’s San Deigo Comic Con may also be able to interact with the thankful crew as Modrovich tweeted that the Lucifer team plans to go to San Diego in some “capacity.” She promises to share in the jubilation that Lucifer was resurrected with some of the very fans that made this possible.
