During SDCC, Misha Collins shared a little more of things to expect in Supernatural Season 14 for Cass. There were questions about his relationship with those in the bunker and the Heaven issue right now.

During a roundtable interview with Misha Collins at SDCC, we got to learn more about what to expect in Supernatural Season 14 for Castiel. As you would expect, the main priority right now is getting Dean back, but what about that issue with Heaven?

The interview started with Collins describing his relationship with both Sam and Jack. Jared Padalecki already shared that Sam would take on more of a leadership role. Does that cause problems with Castiel? Probably not right at the start. Collins shared that Sam and Cass will have a good partnership. We’ll see them looking out for each other and checking in on each other more.

As for Jack, well, he’s in a very unusual situation. The most powerful being in the universe has become a human. He’s lost his powers and now has to figure out life as a human, which is something Castiel figured out in Supernatural Season 9. In fact, Human!Cass was one of the best versions of that character, so it will be interesting to see what Human!Jack will be like with Castiel guiding and mentoring him.

At the end of the interview, there is a section about Heaven. This is a storyline that will come up later in the season. Collins shares there are 6-10 angels right now and once they’re gone, ghosts in Heaven can start to leave. It’s going to be a big issue for Supernatural Season 14. But the Michael!Dean problem is more important first.

Collins also shared some of the other projects he’s got going on. GISH is now officially underway and we know that he has a cookbook with his son West coming up. He also shared he has a feature that he’s working on but he can’t share what that is yet. Oh, and we can’t forget his marathon training! This guy doesn’t slow down.
