EP Eugenie Ross-Leming sat down at SDCC to discuss what’s to come in Supernatural Season 14. There may have been a hint at just how long Michael!Dean is going to be around.

Supernatural Season 14 will start with plenty of anxiety and stress. Sam has to lead a bunch of hunters from another world and look out for a nephilim-turned-human to boot. Meanwhile, Michael is out there somewhere with Dean’s vessel and a plan to “purify” the Earth. Eugenie Ross-Leming sat down at SDCC in a roundtable interview to discuss what’s to come for the season.

The most intriguing moment from the interview is close to the beginning. FanSided’s Entertainment Director, Cody Schultz, asks about the tone of the season. While it’s hard to describe the tone of the full season, Ross-Leming shares the tone of the first few episodes. It’s the anxiety that you would expect when someone is possessed.

She mentions it will be the tone for the “first six episodes.” Could this be exactly how long Michael!Dean is going to be around? We know he’s going to be around longer than we think and many of us hope it will be longer than the three episodes we got Deanmon for. Six episodes would make sense since it gives plenty of time to really develop that character and set up a dangerous villain.

And yes, Michael is going to be the villain in “one form or another.” It sounds like even though Sam will find a way to save his brother, the archangel isn’t planning on going anywhere. Does that mean we’ll get Christian Keyes back? A girl can hope, right?

There’s also talk of bringing Gabriel back and why it happened now. Don’t expect a long explanation. It really is a case of they wanted it so they got it.
