When confirming Supernatural and Arrow wouldn’t crossover, Andrew Dabb teased there was a crossover from Dean’s childhood coming. Could that crossover possibly be the 80s slasher movies in Supernatural Season 14?

After the success of the Scooby-Doo crossover last season, there have been talks of a crossover happening again. While shooting down the idea of the Winchesters heading to Star City to meet Oliver Queen, Andrew Dabb did tease a Supernatural Season 14 crossover.

SPN Hunter’s own Bonnie Byler ran with that, looking at some of the top theories for a crossover. After all, Dabb mentioned something from Dean’s childhood. One thing that we’ve all seemed to miss off out list when chatting was 80s slasher movies.

It turns out that the cast and crew have been getting into the 80s slasher movie mode. This could just be for the Halloween episode that Jason Fischer teased a couple of weeks ago, but it could also be a hint that this is the crossover that’s happening. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time this sort of crossover was attempted.

More from Supernatural

Dean certainly has experience with horror movies and knows a lot about them. He’s referenced the likes of Amityville HorrorCarrie, and Poltergeist. Many of his references are from 70s horror movies, such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but there have been some 80s hits thrown in there. It’s clear that the 80s slashers are part of his DNA.

Dabb mentioned the Arrow crossover wouldn’t work because of the genre. The great thing about 80s slashers is they suit the Supernatural drama. After all, it’s not like the Winchester brothers don’t deal with ghosts, demons, and killers on a regular basis.

How could an 80s slasher movie crossover work? There are plenty of options, including making TV characters real, casting a spell that brings characters to life, or even having humans be the monsters dressed as the horror characters. Of course, Gabriel could come back to life and let the Winchesters know he’s around by putting them into the worlds of the 80s slashers.
