Heroism, sacrifice, and unlikely escapes ruled the previous Fear the Walking Dead. Will the group stay together on the way to Alexandria?

After a heroic sacrifice by Morgan (Lennie James) on top of the hospital, the whole crew couldn’t just leave him. So everyone grabbed their radios, coordinated a rescue with conveniently placed fire truck with a ladder. Fear the Walking Dead sets up a final showdown between the group and Martha (Tonya Pinkins).

Now it’s a matter of finding their one missing family member. Al (Maggie Grace) was basically an afterthought when escaping the hospital, or just a convenient premise for a future episode.

Defense instead of offense

More from AMC

Why do zombie apocalypse survivors who are stranded on rooftops never think of just throwing things to one side of the building to draw the horde? Well, Morgan finally went on the offensive, just after Jim (Aaron Stanford) quit trying to help.

Furthermore, why not be more on the offensive with Martha? Alicia should have just blown her brains out when given the chance. After that, they should have hog-tied her in the back of the SWAT vehicle. Surely John (Garret Dillahunt) knows some complicated knots that would have served the purpose.

So June (Jenna Elfman) radioed Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) just as Alicia and Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) found Strand (Colman Domingo) and John. They all helped save Morgan after he sacrificed himself for the group, Luciana (Danay Garcia), Wendell (Daryl Mitchell), and Sarah (Mo Collins). Jim concurrently went skydiving, hoping to make himself a paraplegic zombie incapable of hurting others, but it didn’t work out the way he wanted.

Instead, he appears to be Martha’s latest bio-weapon on a stick. The pair looks to be the barrier between Al reuniting with her

tapes. Expect Martha to meet her demise in the next episode. It’s just a matter of whether or not she takes someone else with her.

Is the episode title “…I Lose Myself” an indication that Morgan will split from the group? Or will he “clear” again?
