A Million Little Things lands full-season order after three scripts ordered
Not long after ABC chose to order three new scripts for A Million Little Things, the series has landed the full-season order.
Life is made up of A Million Little Things, and that’s certainly what went into this week’s decision. ABC has officially handed the feel-good drama a full-season order just after being handed three episodes.
The three extra episodes were also given to The Rookie, The Kids Are Alright, and Splitting Up Together. ABC’s plan was to give itself a little more time to decide on whether the shows would get more episodes. The writers would be kept busy while waiting for more episodes to air and seeing what the ratings are like.

A Million Little Things was certainly the one that looked good. It ranks second in the timeslot on Wednesday nights, between NBC’s Chicago PD and CBS’ Criminal Minds. It’s holding strong and the ratings have certainly steadied over recent weeks. However, the steady ratings put it at around the same as Designated Survivor before it was canceled, which suggests ABC will want an increase in views to give the show a second season.
For those who don’t know, A Million Little Things is about a group of friends who happened to meet in an elevator when it got stuck. That led to a tight-knit friendship group that’s rocked when one of them, Jon, kills himself. Nobody expected it and Jon was the one that said everything is made up of “a million little things.”
Since the pilot, there have been plenty of storylines that have come up. This is a show focusing on depression, pregnancy, affairs, marriage breakdowns, cancer, and so much more. If you’re not watching it yet, I highly recommend catching up!
The full-season order means that the hour-long drama will have 17 episodes. It follows Single Parents as the second freshman show to land a full-season order. Station 19 also gained a full season after debuting its second season this fall. A full season can be anything between 16 and 22 episodes now.
