God Friended Me: Could Adam Goldberg be the God Account owner?
Adam Goldberg has landed the role of Simon Hayes in God Friended Me? Is he the God Account owner or a red herring?
God Friended Me has just gained its Simon Hayes. Adam Goldberg has landed the role and we may start to get a few more answers about the God Account owner.
From the beginning of the series, we’ve all wondered who is behind the God Account. After all, the show isn’t (or at least, doesn’t seem to be) going the route of it actually being God. The idea is that someone is posing as God to send Miles Finer on missions of goodwill and helpfulness.

Just as it looked like we were getting some answers in the fall finale, the winter premiere gave us a twist. Pria and Henry were just two parts of a triangle, with Simon being the other third. Then we learned Simon was taking over the running of Miles’ place of work.
Coincidence? Yeah, I don’t think so. Nothing has been a coincidence so far.
The problem with a show like God Friended Me that has one big question to answer is that eventually, it can feel like the storyline is dragging (LOST, Pretty Little Liars). But answering that question means another one needs to be brought up and it needs to be good, which a lot of the time it isn’t (Riverdale).
Can God Friended Me find a balance and will Goldberg be part of that storyline? According to Deadline, Simon’s involvement in the account will definitely be explained. EP Bryan Wynbrandt says that the question will be dealt with in a satisfactory matter, but that doesn’t mean we’re getting any concrete answers.
The writers have, at least, got a lot of shows to look at to see how to handle this type of storyline properly — or how not to handle it. I’ve already shared my ideas on how to handle it, which is possible with a show like God Friended Me.
Either way, we may meet the owner of the God Account very soon.
