30 best Supernatural episodes: Episode 300 enters the list

Supernatural Episode 300 was epic. There’s no doubt about that. It’s certainly one of the top 30 Supernatural episodes ever but where does it make it on the list?

Was there ever any doubt that Supernatural Episode 300 wouldn’t make it onto the list of the best episodes ever? The question should be where it ended up on the list.

There’s certainly plenty of competition for number one episode. I’ll be honest and say that this episode isn’t the number one, because there’s only one episode that could ever take that spot. But Episode 300 is in the top five. I won’t spoil exactly where.

Titled “Lebanon,” the milestone episode was a beautiful mixture of meta and story. It brought John Winchester back and got rid of him just as quickly. The story was never about how he returned, why he returned, or even how to get him back. That whole process was simple, keeping the focus on what it was supposed to be about: a Winchester family reunion.

With Winchester Surprise, “I don’t understand that reference,” and closure for the two brothers, Episode 300 pulled at the heartstrings and delivered an episode that will go down in history as one of the most memorable. It’s an episode you can just put on when you really need to see the Winchesters be a happy family, even just for a few minutes.

Sure, this episode was never going to be for everyone. Many wanted more (understandably) and others wanted a bigger story. However, there’s no denying there were some absolutely beautiful moments.
