The Season 2 finale of The Resident has aired and now we’re left to wonder where the characters will go from here after that shocking ending.

The Season 2 finale of The Resident has aired and now we’re left to wonder where the characters will go from here after that shocking ending.

After an extended Season 2, The Resident has finally reached its final hour for the season. Luckily for fans of the show, you can rest easy knowing the medical drama will return sometime this fall on FOX. In “Unbefriended” Kyle finally decided to be a father and show up for Jessie, Nic and Conrad’s relationship got back on track, and Bell made a critical decision concerning Chastain’s future.

As with any good finale, the stakes are high and not every answer is filled in by the end of the hour. Moving forward, The Resident has raised plenty of questions for us to ponder over the summer hiatus.

5. What is in store for Mina and Austin?

Tonight’s episode felt like the official closing of the book on Micah’s arc. I can’t foresee him returning in the future. He comes in to the hospital to get a pacemaker and on his arm is a new girlfriend. He tells Austin she has made him happier than he’s ever been. There is no mention of Mina. The two don’t even share a scene together.

More from FOX

Austin believes Mina is still upset about their broken engagement and he’s not wrong. She is unable to hide her pain when he tells her the news about Micah’s new relationship.

Honestly though, it’s for the best. As Austin points out, “anybody who could replace you so quickly doesn’t deserve you.” A potential relationship is teased between Mina and Austin yet again this week.

At the end of the episode we see Mina watching Micah and his girlfriend prepare to leave the hospital. She appears somewhat at peace with the fact he’s moving on, and so can she. In the mean time, Austin offers her a lung biopsy and they share a knowing smile. I mean at this point a lung biopsy is basically foreplay between them.
