We know that Supernatural is coming to an end after the 15th season. Jared Padalecki admits he doesn’t want it to feel like it’s ending.

There’s a lot of talk about how Supernatural will end. This has been a topic of conversation for a while, but it’s especially important now as this time next year the series finale will have aired. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have been talking a lot about the ending to the series.

During the CW Upfronts on May 16, Ackles and Padalecki discussed the ending with TV Insider. One of the questions was, unsurprisingly, about the ending and whether the journey to the series finale will feel like the show is ending.

Padalecki admitted that he hopes it doesn’t feel like it’s ending. On many occasions, the actors will play their characters like they know the show is coming to an end. They know what’s around the corner but as a character, they wouldn’t know any of that. Playing as if they know what’s going on will take the viewers out of the episodes and the overall feeling of the episode.

He hopes that he and his fellow actors can play the story as something that still feels like there could be more years to come. He wants to make it feel like there is a journey after this.

Oh, and don’t expect a happy ending. Padalecki also joked that he doesn’t want a happy ending — and this isn’t the first time he’s said this so I don’t quite think it’s all a joke. If the brothers got a happy ending, it wouldn’t be the show we’ve watched all these years.

As much as I would love to see them end with all monsters, demons, ghosts, angels, etc. locked away so the Winchesters can live a normal life, I don’t actually envision that happening for the Supernatural series finale. And it sounds like the stars don’t envision that, either.
