SDCC 2019 kicked off on July 18 with Van Helsing, The Order, His Dark Materials, and many more panels. Here’s everything you missed during Day 1.

Van Helsing took to the stage first at SDCC 2019. It was followed by The Order’s very first San Diego Comic-Con panel, a look at the likes of His Dark Materials and Evil and so much more.

You possibly missed some of the panels. Whether you were there or not, San Diego Comic-Con has a lot to keep up with. This post is going to look back at the day with everything important you missed.

Kicking off with the fantasy

The day started with two fantasy shows that couldn’t be any more different to each other. The first was Van Helsing, taking to the stage to promote its fourth season. Not all cast members could be there in person, such as Kelly Overton, who is currently getting ready to birth the next vampire hunter, but there was still plenty of information.

More from Entertainment

We got to learn that Keeya King and Nicole Munoz will play Jack and Violet respectively. Both are extremely intriguing characters, but we know a little more about Violet right now. She’s Neal McDonough’s Boss’ daughter, and there’s something different about her.

Tricia Helfer was also on stage, sharing all about her Dracula. Well, sort of all. We found out that this is going to be one scary vampire.

Van Helsing Season 4’s trailer was also released.

The Order had its first SDCC panel, sharing some updates about its second season and talking about the behind-the-scenes of the first. Jake Manley couldn’t be physically at the panel but did FaceTime. There were certainly some funny moments when the screen froze!

There wasn’t much that the show could share in terms of footage. To make up for that, the cast offered the reading of a scene from the second season. How exciting! Because of the FaceTime issues, Jake couldn’t join in with the read. Instead, Thomas Elms stepped into the role and rather convincingly.

More blue roses are being handed out at the school, but there’s a problem. There’s possibly a rogue agent on campus and that rogue agent may be responsible for a death that’s being investigated. Oh, and we can’t overlook the magical tourist doing a murder spell.

The ending of the first season saw the werewolves’ memories wiped. The Order doesn’t seem to have thought everything through because the werewolves tear someone apart.
