Buck looks to be making a huge mistake in 9-1-1 Season 3. Will he eventually go through with his plan or will he back out?

It’s always hard seeing our favorite characters at loggerheads with each other. That is something happening in 9-1-1 Season 3, but will Buck end up going through with the whole plan?

There are spoilers in this post if you’re not all caught up with 9-1-1 Season 3.

After the tsunami, Buck seemed to get a new appreciation on life. He took his health seriously and made it clear that he was focused on getting back on the full job. He wanted to prove that he could work on the truck again. Sadly, he found out that it wasn’t the top bosses holding him back but Bobby.

I get why Bobby wants Buck on light duty right now. If something happens to Buck in the field, that’s one extra person that needs saving who really shouldn’t need saving. Buck has proven that he can be selfish in the way he reacts in situations. Just saying that there were paramedics around on calls if something happened to him proved his lack of thought about what that would mean for the whole situation.

Buck doesn’t see it that way, though. The only thing he’s ever wanted—and something that he is arguably great at—is being taken away from him. And it’s a man he looks up to that is taking it away from him. Naturally, Buck is angry, and it’s not all that surprising that he’s suing the city and Bobby for not being where he feels he’s supposed to be.

Buck probably won’t go through with it

While it’s certainly possible that Buck will go through with the lawsuit, I get the feeling that he’s going to have a change of heart partway through. He’s been told that he can’t have any communication with anyone involved. This doesn’t just involve Bobby but the entire 118.

He won’t be able to look after Christopher, he can’t hang out with Eddie, Chimney, and Hen, and it could cause problems between him and his sister. After all, Maddie isn’t just dating Chimney but she’s also one of the 9-1-1 dispatchers.

Buck will be completely isolated. Right now, his feelings are raw. He won’t be able to see the woods for the trees, not realizing that his friends could have helped him through this mess. As he realizes how alone he is, there is a chance he’ll decide the lawsuit isn’t worth it.

Plus, I don’t see how he could win this lawsuit. Bobby has done what is best. Buck isn’t at full health yet and is a danger on the job.
