25 Days of Dean-mas Day 8: Why Dean will never give up hunting
Supernatural Season 15 saw Dean consider leaving the hunting life for good. We knew that would never happen, right? He can leave the hunting life behind.
During Supernatural Season 15, we’ve seen Dean step back from hunting. He’s been on cases, but not necessarily had his heart fully into it. Would this be how it all ends? Will Dean step away from the hunter’s life for good?
I don’t see it. To mark Day 8 of the 25 Days of Dean-mas, it’s time to look at the chances of him walking away by looking at his personality and past.

Dean has stepped away from the hunter’s life once before. After Sam sacrificed himself to save the world, Dean did the one thing he promised Sam he would. He went to live a life with Lisa. But he couldn’t stay away forever. Even had Sam not turned back up, I don’t think Dean would have lived the apple pie life forever.
It’s in Dean’s nature to help people. He’s been raised as the person to protect others, whether it’s Sammy or the innocent people in the world. Sure, people may not be fully innocent, but that doesn’t mean they deserve to be taken and killed by monsters and creatures.

Dean has already said that helping people is something that he loves about the life. With all the bad that comes, there’s still a lot of good to focus on.
He’s going to falter in his views. We all do. Situations get us down and make us question things, but that doesn’t mean things stay that way. Dean often just needs the reminders of why he does his job; of why he’s the one who needs to do the job. There will always be that need to help people and escaping the life is a pipe dream.
