This Is Us Season 4: Everything we know about Dave Annable’s role

Dave Annable is set to guest star on This Is Us. Who will he play and how will he affect a fan-favorite character? Here’s everything we know.

TVLine broke the news on Wednesday that Dave Annable is set to appear in at least one episode in the remainder of This Is Us Season 4. His role? Annable will portray Kevin’s acting teacher, Kirby.

The report also states that Annable was spotted filming scenes with Mandy Moore in New York City. Interestingly enough, this wouldn’t be the first time Annable and Moore have shared the screen together. The duo once portrayed an estranged couple on the medical drama Red Band Society in 2014, but the show only ran for one season on FOX.

There’s speculation that Dave Annable’s Kirby will appear in a flashback with young Kevin given the rumored location and knowing how much work Kevin has put into his acting career. I predict a reunion in the present day could spark something in Kevin. Whether it has to do with his acting career or even advice on his love life, I feel like Kirby’s appearance will propel Kevin toward something big.

Recently, Kevin reunited with ex-wife Sophie after the loss of her mother. The former lovers were able to reminisce and perhaps even make peace with their past. Many This Is Us fans are hoping for their reunion to be long-term, but Kevin went on to sleep with Kate’s friend, Madison. Don’t forget that Sophia Bush’s Lizzy is expected to return, and we can’t rule out another Cassidy Sharpe appearance. One thing’s for sure – the future of Kevin’s love life is far from set in stone.

In other guest star news for Season 4, we already know that Ron Cephas Jones will return as Randall’s late, biological father, William, and Pamela Adlon will soon make her This Is Us debut to play a pivotal role in Randall’s life. Timothy Omundson appeared in Episode 13 again as Kate and Toby’s neighbor, Gregory, and he’s expected to pop up a few more times.
