Grey’s Anatomy Season 16, Episode 13: DeLuca’s mystery patient
DeLuca is out to do everything in his power to help Suzanne, so a new doc is coming to Grey Sloan assist. Here’s everything we know and how to watch Grey’s Anatomy Season 16, Episode 13 live.
Grey’s Anatomy is no stranger to emotional episodes and it looks like we may be in for just that with “Save the Last Dance for Me.” Jesse Williams has directed this hour, which will focus on two developing storylines and introduce a new one involving Dr. Bailey. Here’s what we know so far.
DeLuca’s mystery patient
Episode 11 introduced Suzanne (Sarah Rafferty) as a patient who came in for a routine appendectomy, but is now suffering from a handful of mysterious symptoms. Her children lost their father in a sudden, medical-related manner a year ago, so DeLuca is on a mission to find a cure. As we saw at the end of Episode 12, Meredith is ready to get involved, bringing us to wonder if this case will reignite their spark.

Before we get to the bottom of that, though, DeLuca will seek help from a “diagnostics genius” in Dr. Lauren Riley (Shoshannah Stern). Will Dr. Riley be able to find any answers immediately? Or is it possible that DeLuca’s personal feelings about this case will stand in the way?
Bailey helps Joey
Station 19 Season 3, Episode 4 will start a new storyline for Ben and Bailey. In the hour before Grey’s Anatomy, the firefighters will aid in the rescue of Joey and his siblings who have run away following their adopted father’s arrest. Joey is brought to Grey Sloan to be treated, but his main concerns are the whereabouts of his three siblings. A new promo reveals Joey begging Bailey to tell him where they are. It doesn’t look like she’ll have a good answer for him.
Amelia’s paternity test
ABC’s synopsis for Episode 13 hints that Amelia “is getting the results of her paternity test.” It remains to be seen if Amelia will actually learn who her baby’s father is right away, or if she’s officially taking the steps in seeking that information. We also know that Amelia will be confronted by Jo regarding how she’s been treating Link.
It’ll be interesting to see if Jo’s appearance, in general, leads to any hints on Alex Karev’s whereabouts, or if we’ll go another week of ignoring his notable absence.
