It’s another good week for Station 19 in the TV ratings. But while that happens, Katy Keene falls and Tommy sees mixed results. Here’s a look at Feb. 27’s ratings.

It was a positive night for many TV shows on Feb. 27, and that’s not included the face that Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Law and Order: SVU were all renewed for three seasons each. Many TV shows waiting for renewals were up in the live TV ratings.

We’ll start with the bad news, though. Katy Keene, the only CW show not to have a second season (although it did have 13 more scripts ordered) dropped by 28% in the demo and 5% in the total audience. It’s the lowest-rated CW series and we could see the Riverdale spin-off not make it through another year. It will be a shame if this happens for Lucy Hale, marking her second CW series to be canceled after one season.

More from Ratings

Tommy saw some mixed results in the TV ratings. While the demo was up by 16%, the total audience was down by 1.4%. This isn’t the lowest of CBS shows, and it is higher than its NBC and ABC competition, but it’s still disappointing for a freshman show. I’m not sure it’s going to be enough for a second season.

For other shows still waiting for renewals, the ratings were good. Deputy was up 13% in the demo and 9% in the audience. While the audience remains low, it’s positive movement after a slow start. Indebted and Outmatched also saw upward ticks, making it a decent night for freshman shows.

Last Man Standing was up 4.5% in the demo and 10.5% in the total audience, suggesting a ninth season is happening, while Station 19 had another good night. It could be due to the crossovers with Grey’s Anatomy or maybe it’s the fact that it’s a stronger season, but the ratings were up again. It won the night in the total audience with 6.55 million people tuning in.

To put Station 19 into perspective with its parent show, Grey’s Anatomy saw a 1% dip in the total audience taking it below the 6 million mark. However, Grey’s did see a 1.1 demo rating, the highest of the night.

A Million Little Things wrapped things up for ABC, with more positive results. The demo was up 7% and the total audience up almost 2%. While the figures are on the low side, they’re competing against Law & Order: SVU. There’s a good chance the series will be renewed for another season.

The only Thursday shows I’m concerned about are the freshman shows. Check out the Feb. 27 TV ratings to put everything into perspective.
