The start of March kicks off with some great TV episodes. However, the TV ratings aren’t positive all around. As NCIS: LA ticks up, NOLA struggles and more.

You can always tell when football season is over. The Sunday TV ratings are much more consistent. FOX and CBS don’t have the huge jumps up and down. Sadly for many, the ratings this week were down, although NCIS: LA did enjoy a tick up.

Sunday night is the night with most shows still to be decided. While The CW knows that both Batwoman and Supergirl are returning, we don’t know about the majority of other shows on the networks. So, that makes these ratings all the more important.

For CBS, I wouldn’t be surprised if all four shows are renewed. Yes, four. We can’t forget 60 Minutes, which ticked up in both the demo and audience this week. It pulled in the highest number of viewers at 9.16 million.

Meanwhile, God Friended Me was up 5% in the demo and steady in the audience and NCIS: LA was up 9% and 4% respectively. The only CBS show that struggled this week was NCIS: New Orleans, which dropped 12% in the demo but was steady in the audience. Despite this, I think the youngest NCIS spin-off will be safe for another season considering the ratings remain stronger than Madam Secretary the last couple of years.

Other networks were mostly down in the ratings. Despite pulling in the top demo, American Idol was down in both metrics. I doubt this is anything to worry about, but it is a sign that ABC will want to see if other non-scripted shows can perform better.

American Idol‘s drop followed with The Rookie‘s drop of 11% and 8% in the demo and audience. Considering the large uptick in the ratings for the winter premiere, this isn’t all that surprising. The numbers are still among the best for the season so far.

FOX saw downward ticks for its entire Animation Domination lineup. Duncanville is the most concerning since it’s a new series and has dropped another 23% and 13% in the demo and audience. It’s worth pointing out that the figures are around the rerun figures in the hour earlier.

Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy also continue to fall. Considering the popularity over the years, these two shows are likely to be safe but it’s something to watch out for in the future.

NBC’s Little Big Shots saw a big drop, but that’s not all that surprising. The season premiere did air on a Monday night and its switched to its usual Sunday night slot. That’s something the network will take into consideration. It’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Good Girls that the network will lookout for the most.

The former was down 13% in the demo but up 5% in the audience. This is a semi-good sign for the freshman series. If the Hulu ratings are up the following day, there is hope. Good Girls fell in the demo and was steady in the audience. The one thing going for this show is the international Netflix deal. I’m not writing the show off just yet.
