SEAL Team Season 3, Episode 13 delivered an episode that had us thinking a favorite was leaving. Who did make the career-ending mistake in the end?

Someone in Bravo Team made a career-ending mistake on SEAL Team Season 3, Episode 13. Throughout the episode, we followed everything Bravo Team remembered and wondered if one of our favorites would be kicked off the team. Who made that mistake in the end?

From the start, it was clear that we’d get an episode with constant flashbacks. We started with the body of the CIA asset from the previous two episodes, the doctor, being placed on the plane to head back to the States. With a CIA asset dead, it was clear that questions would be asked. Bravo Team needed to make sure it was on the same page.

Sonny was willing to lie

More from CBS

Ray and then Clay went through everything they saw. Ray says he threw a flashbang into the room but that it exploded in a way that it shouldn’t have. Clay saw someone with an explosive vest. Sonny very quickly decided to come up with a story. There was someone in the room with the asset with a vest on and the flashbang must have detonated that.

Case closed, right? Jason was happy with it, but Ray knew that Sonny was lying. It very quickly came out that Sonny hadn’t seen a vest, so it was back to the drawing board.

After running through other options, Ray realized that it had to be his flashbang that caused the explosion. When he checked his gear, he realized that the flashbang was still there. He threw a “homewrecker” in the room. In other words, he made a rookie mistake and killed the asset.

Not only would this lead to him not getting warrant officer, but it would completely end his career. There was no way around it.

Davis and Mandy save Ray

Remember that comms and all birds were down during the final part of this mission. The command center had been compromised. So, they thought they had no eyes anywhere.

It turned out they did. There was one bird in the sky, which caught someone on the roof of the compound. That someone threw something into a room as it exploded. And to make matters worse, the room was the one with the asset.

Ray couldn’t have done it since he was inside. There was only one person on the roof: the new kid.

Sure enough, the new kid threw a homewrecker into the room, not realizing that the asset was in there. All he heard was gunshots and thought he was doing the right thing.

Had he owned up to exactly what he did, everything would have been fine. They could have worked around him being green. The big problem was the newbie was willing to let Ray lose his whole life for his mistake. Naturally, the entire team wanted him out. It was going to be Ray’s decision at the end of SEAL Team.

Ray makes an honorable speech

Knowing what the team meant to the new kid, it was a hard decision for sure. Ray forgave him for making the mistake; for trying to cover his own tracks.

Does that mean the kid remains on the team? Oh, no!

While Ray forgave the kid, he made it clear that he didn’t trust the kid. Bravo Team couldn’t have someone untrustworthy on the team. With the support of the others, Ray removed the kid’s wings.

Case closed.

My one request for SEAL Team: can we give Ray a bit of a break, please?
