TV ratings: 60 Minutes, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and more [Nov. 1]
A breakdown of the live TV ratings for Sunday, Nov. 1
FOX had Sunday’s football in the afternoon, leading to good live TV ratings for new The Simpsons and more. However, 60 Minutes didn’t see a huge drop. Here’s a look at the ratings for Nov. 1.
We’ll start with NBC, which had Sunday Night Football, as usual. It shouldn’t be surprising to hear that it won the night (outside of the NFL Overrun on FOX), pulling in 13.90 million viewers and a 3.9 demo rating.
More from Ratings
- Thursday TV ratings: Grey’s Anatomy up, Walker Independence down
- Wednesday TV ratings: One Chicago mixed, Kung Fu down (November 9)
- Tuesday TV ratings: The Resident and Monarch down (November 8)
- Monday TV ratings: All American down, Quantum Leap up (Nov. 7)
- Weekend live TV ratings: Fire Country and FBI mixed
FOX’s Overrun pulled in 15.98 million viewers and a 4.4 demo rating. It helped to see The Simpsons‘s Halloween episode gained a 375% increase in the audience and a 340% increase in the demo.
The increases weren’t as high but they were still good for Bless and Harts, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy. There’s nothing to worry about with Animation Domination.
60 Minutes, Pandora, and more in the live TV ratings
What about the other networks? CBS had a new episode of 60 Minutes, which lost 51% of its audience and 68% of its demo from the previous episode. Not only was the previous episode benefiting from the NFL Overrun last week, but it was also benefiting from the political-themed episode to get ready for the Presidential Election.
The network didn’t keep the good results from the episode for its movie of the night, Star Trek Beyond. However, this is the last week of this. NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans premiere new seasons on Nov. 8.
Pandora was the only show with new episodes on The CW. It lost another almost-2% of its audience but remained steady in the demo. This isn’t a good sign for the fantasy/sci-fi series, and I think we’ll find out that it’s going to be canceled, in a similar way to FOX canceling Filthy Rich and neXt recently.
ABC had a mixed night. While all the scripted shows performed relatively well against other networks, the numbers were down from the previous episodes. Supermarket Sweep lost 7% of its audience and 22% of its demo but did hold second-best of the timeslot against The Simpsons. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was down 10% in the audience and 16% in the demo but was top in the audience against Animation Domination on FOX.
I don’t think we need to worry about the shows. However, they will likely move back to the spring or summer when fall TV is back to normal.
