Sure, the ‘This Is Us’ cast is all smiles now, but it won’t be long before Season 2 brings the tears. Check out the first behind the scenes snap!

More from This Is Us

Batten down the hatches, the Pearson family is back! Although we still have quite a bit more waiting to do until This Is Us premieres its second season in September, the Pearsons have reassembled to commence production. Doesn’t it feel like just yesterday we parted with the breakout hit for the summer with puffy eyes and unanswered questions? Time flies when you’re wondering how Jack died.

Don’t worry. The clock hasn’t run out on one more binge of Season 1 of This Is Us to hypothesize conspiracy theories. But it’s time to get excited for the prospect of new ugly cries and answers. On Tuesday, the cast gathered for their first day on set as they commenced production on Season 2. Thankfully, Sterling K. Brown shared the special day with fans and allowed us to catch a glimpse of their “Pearson Pride” with the first behind the scenes snap of the season. After a long summer hiatus apart, Brown reunited with his TV parents Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia for an obligatory selfie. Don’t get us wrong, we love the Big Three. But dare we say there’s a new Big Three in town?

“Back 2 Work! Reunited and it feels so good!” Brown captioned the photo of the This Is Us stars below. As good as it feels to be reunited with this cast, let’s not be fooled by their smiles. More twists, turns, and tears await us in Season 2, and they already know they’re coming straight for our feels.

Nevertheless, something tells us Moore, Brown, and Ventimiglia will be beaming with extra Pearson pride come Thursday when Emmy nominations are announced. Kevin Pearson may not have been scoring Emmy nods for The Manny, but the ultra-talented This Is Us cast and crew should expect to hear some very good news.
