What can we expect from This Is Us when it returns after the Olympics? Deja’s return, Jack in war, Magic Mike Live in Las Vegas?! Let’s dissect the season 2, episode 16 trailer!

Just because This Is Us has taken a short break for the Olympics doesn’t mean haven’t stopped being obsessed with the series. Sure, the past three episodes have caused more collective wear and tear on the hearts of fans than the entire first season combined, but we can’t help but keep coming back to the Pearsons for more inspirational stories of love and family.

And those stories will be gearing up for the Season 2 finale when This Is Us returns for its final three episodes on Feb. 27. NBC has graciously released a 40-second clip featuring scenes from the next new episode, and you better believe we have watched the trailer frame by frame searching for clues as to what to expect. Jack will head to war and the Big Three will head to Vegas in these four moments you might have missed in the sneak peek!

1. Kate’s bachelorette party at Magic Mike Live

There might not be a concrete wedding date on the calendar (that we’re aware of as of this writing), but Kate and Toby are ready to celebrate their bachelor and bachelorette parties! While Toby hits the town in another flashy floral blazer with his friends and Kate’s brothers, Kate and her girlfriends (including Beth and Madison) hit Vegas for a night out at Magic Mike Live. Prepare for a fun and bashful evening in Las Vegas, but wait… will there be tears?

2. Kevin struggles with sobriety

For Kevin, there might be a few tears. Fresh off of his stint in a rehabilitation center, he’s painting the town red with Toby. Of course, there will be triggers every which way he turns in Vegas, from the casino bars to the hotel minibars. Can Kevin keep his head above water and remain committed to his treatment? Now, it’s no secret that viewers have just about had it with Kevin, but he’s finally started to heal from his past demons. We can give him this moment to be a little extra.

3. Deja’s back at Randall’s… and so is her mom?

We know that Deja returned to the Pearson home in the previous episode after leaving to live with her mother (and shattering our fragile hearts in the process). But would you have anticipated Deja’s mother to break bread with Beth and Randall? Although they parted on good terms, the tension between them cannot be denied. But the trailer features a blink-and-you’ll-miss-moment of Deja and her mother at dinner at the Pearson home. What’s the manner of their visit?

4. Going to war with Jack

In the final moments of the trailer, the leading question on the minds of fans receives a visceral answer: What’s next for Jack Pearson now that we know how he died? Well, he’s going to war. This Is Us will flashback to Jack’s days on the front lines as we see donning a uniform and yielding a gun in a chopper. Will we meet his brother and understand the trauma he witnessed that he hold so close to the vest? Only time will tell!
