After Mary and Jack escaped Michael, they were rescued by Bobby from the Apocalypse World. When this season of Supernatural ends, will Mary choose to stay with Bobby or return to be with her boys?

When Supernatural introduced the Apocalypse World to us at the end of Season 12, everyone rejoiced. Bobby is alive in that world. Long live Bobby! Speculation about how to incorporate Bobby into the real world began running rampant.

After Jack and Mary escaped Michael, they were rescued by Apocalypse Bobby. And when Bobby set eyes on Mary, you could see there was some kind of unrequited something between them. You could just tell that Bobby had feelings for the other Mary, and having our Mary there brought it out.

There will be a time in this current season where either Sam and Dean or Jack will succeed in opening a portal between the two worlds. There will be a battle between Lucifer and Michael and everyone else involved, which will probably include a team up between worlds. After the dust settles, there will be a choice to be made: Will Mary stay with Apocalypse Bobby, or will she return to her boys?

She stays

There could be some argument that she will stay with Apocalypse Bobby in the alternate world. Once Michael is defeated (because obviously he will be defeated), there will be a lot of need to rebuild the world. Since Bobby is the leader of the human resistance, it makes sense that he would probably be in charge of the rebuild. When it comes time to part, I can definitely see Bobby making a proposition. He will let his feelings get the better of him, and will ask Mary to stay with him. He will frame it as she’s strong and a great leader, but he will ask her to stay.

And I can see Mary possibly accepting. Last season, she didn’t really fit in with  Sam and Dean. She struggled with being brought back from the dead into an unfamiliar time. It was hard for her to see her children grown when she last knew them as small kids. Staying with Bobby would definitely be easy for her. With the threat of Michael gone, she can help the world rebuild. She can find her place there. And maybe see if there’s anything between her and Bobby.

She comes back…alone

Same scenario as above. Bobby makes the offer to have her stay with him and rebuild the world. However, this time she turns him down and returns home. She’s been in the apocalypse world for a long time, and she just wants to be home with familiarity.

When Lucifer dragged her through the portal with him, she had just started getting in a better place with Sam and Dean. Their relationship was just starting to look up. I can’t see her staying in the apocalypse world if she has the choice. She will more than likely return to the “real” world in order for her to continue fixing her relationship with the boys. Especially since it will probably kill Dean if his mom actively chooses to permanently separate herself from the boys again.

She comes back…with Bobby

So, like previous seasons of Supernatural, there’s a big battle at the end of the season, complete with team-ups, and Michael loses. What now? The other world is destroyed. The humans are near extinction. There’s nothing there for the people who live there. Someone (probably Castiel) will make an offer to let everyone from the Apocalypse World move to the real world. And they all accept.

This will allow Apocalypse Bobby to stay with Mary and Mary to stay with her boys. Mary can task herself with acclimating Bobby to the new world. Since Mary isn’t too big on hunting full time, she and Bobby can go off into the sunset and live as secondary characters. Sam and Dean (and maybe the Wayward Sisters) can pop in on them from time to time for advice or assistance.  This is my favorite scenario because it would mean we get to see more Jim Beavers on the show.
