Supernatural Season 14 is officially confirmed

We finally have the awesome news that Supernatural Season 14 is a go!

Supernatural Season 14 is officially happening. The CW has renewed it, along with nine other of its fall shows. It’s not unsurprising news but does leave us reassured.

Mark Pedowitz recently renewed his contract with the teen network, leading to the confirmation that the series about the Winchester brothers was highly expected to be renewed. Only two things mattered: Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki wanting to do it AND the ratings remaining high. This week the ratings took an increase to the highest since the Supernatural Season 13 premiere.

Now all fans want to know is if the spin-off, Wayward Sisters, will happen. The CW may want to wait to see the pilots for other potential freshman shows first to make a decision on the fate of that series. Wayward Sisters aired a backdoor pilot in Episodes 9 and 10 of the recent season of Supernatural and is focused on Sheriff Jody Mills and her group of wayward women.

Supernatural Season 13 is currently focused on the Apocalypse World. This week’s episode will focus on the Winchesters getting the last ingredients needed for their spell. Now that Supernatural Season 14 is confirmed, the writers will be able to create a strong jumping off point for the next season. It’s likely to be a cliffhanger like previous seasons. Many fans expect the final moments to include the rift opening and Apocalypse Michael to come through.

The news of the renewal comes with The CW confirming nine other shows, including Arrow, The Flash and the newest success, Black Lightning. Only a handful of shows remain on the bubble.
