Will Heaven’s collapse be the Supernatural Season 13 finale cliffhanger?

For most of Supernatural Season 13 I’ve thought Michael would be the cliffhanger for the finale. Now, I’m starting to think it will be Heaven’s collapse.

Supernatural Season 13 has introduced multiple problems for the Winchesters to fix–and they’re not all the Winchesters’ fault! We’ve had Evil Colonel Sanders take over Hell for a short period of time, Apocalypse Michael threatens everything in the Winchesters’ world, the Winchesters start the season struggling to believe there’s anything good that can happen, and Lucifer a problem again. Now the show has introduced the idea of Heaven crumbling.

Sure enough, it looks like this is going to be a problem for the 14th season. There’s no way the show could wrap this story up effectively in the last three episodes. In fact, if the show tried that then it would have made Heaven’s storyline completely pointless, as filler just to try to give Castiel his own storyline.

Now, I wouldn’t mind Castiel getting a storyline but I do have an objection to it just being filler. But that’s for another piece!

Right now, it’s all about the angels and Heaven. Naomi made a point about the souls in Heaven returning to Earth. This could be a major issue if it were to happen. All those potentially vengeful spirits would become the Winchesters’ problem…some of them again! It make sense that an issue like this will be the Supernatural Season 13 finale cliffhanger, right?

The only other decent way to create a cliffhanger is for Michael to step through the rift and become a real problem. I’d like that since Michael has been the big threat all season and we’re still to see him in real action. Michael coming across will lead to Heaven’s power no longer being a problem. It would be possible to bring other angels across to solve that angel problem. That means Michael will have to become a non-problem in the finale and the big issue be the fall of Heaven.
