Supernatural season 14 premiere date confirmed, will be acting as a lead-in for other CW shows

The CW has officially confirmed the Supernatural season 14 premiere date with a surprising twist. It will be acting as a lead-in for The CW’s new shows.
Season 13 may have only just wrapped up but preparation for Supernatural Season 14 is already underway. Production prep has been announced and now The CW has officially announced when the 14th season will premiere in the fall.
Released only today, Supernatural Season 14 will return as we expected, on Thursday, October 11 at 8/7c.

Interestingly, The CW has set up the show to act as a lead-in for many other CW projects. The Originals spin-off, Legacies, which premieres its debut season in the fall was reported to be the follow-up show to Supernatural.

Yet when The CW announced their fall premiere dates, All American will air an encore its premiere episode straight after the Supernatural season 14 premiere. The week after, October 18, Charmed will follow after Supernatural with an encore of its series premiere. Legacies, will not air its series premiere episode until October 15.
No doubt this move will be an attempt by The CW network to take advantage of the existing Supernatural fandom, which is understandably huge, interested in some of the newer shows coming to The CW. It’s clear the network wants Charmed and All American to be successes.
It will be interesting to see if this works in any way. A large majority of the Supernatural fandom is still upset with The CW for passing up on the Wayward Sisters spin-off with some fans wanting to take it out on the newer shows.
