Eric Kripke’s The House with a Clock in Its Walls will be released in the fall. It’s a tale that all Supernatural fans will love and here’s why.

If you haven’t heard already, then you’ve possibly been avoiding Twitter or may have been in a black hole. It’s okay! However, Eric Kripke is releasing his first movie, with the amazingly talented Eli Roth directing and Nathan Barr composing. The House with a Clock in Its Walls is a mystical tale with an all-star cast that the Supernatural fans are going to love.

Even if you haven’t read the novel the book is based on, this is a movie you are going to want to stop and see. It releases just before Supernatural Season 14 premieres on The CW, so you’ve got something exciting to watch from the show’s original creator.

But why should Supernatural fans go and watch this magical story? Why should you spend your time delving into another world? Here are five reasons why you should watch The House with a Clock in Its Walls.

5. It’s Eric Kripke, duh!

Let’s just start with the obvious reason. While based on a novel, it’s adapted by the amazing mind that is Eric Kripke. That should be enough to make you want to go see it. This is the man who developed Supernatural from the very beginning; who create a three-season story-arc that was beautifully and realistically developed into a five-season one.

If you want to support the creator of our series, this is the best way to do it. After all, he’s found out his series Timeless has been canceled (unfairly) after two seasons. He needs support for this one. Let’s show him that we love his work.

4. It was the starting point for Supernatural

Kripke recently shared that the novel this movie is based on was the inspiration for Supernatural. That means there are going to be many similarities, especially from the earlier years. Just from the promo photos and trailer alone, there are plenty of dark and creepy elements, bringing back some of the old-school memories of the Winchesters’ travels around the country.

3. There are Supernatural Easter eggs just for you

Just recently, Kripke also shared that the movie was going to be full of Supernatural Easter eggs. Surely you want to see The House with a Clock in Its Walls just to see what all those Easter eggs are. This is often the fun part of watching Kripke’s works post-SPN. He likes to put a lot of eggs into his other projects.

There may even be some in the trailer right now. Don’t forget to follow him on Twitter, because he will drop a lot of hints about the eggs. Think of them like Pokemon–instead of catching them all, you want to be the first to spot them all!

2. The novel is also a long series

Supernatural has become a beautiful and intricate tale that has continued long past its original creator left. The House with a Clock in Its Walls got the exact same treatment–and positivity from the fanbase. John Bellairs wrote the original novel in 1973. Since then, it has spanned multiple novels with the latest released in 2008, after Bellairs’ death.

If you love the way that SPN has adapted over the years, then you’ll love the way the novel series adapts. This is something for those who love to see others take a piece of work and continue to make it grow.

The House with a Clock In Its Walls is perfect for the Supernatural fans because it’s for a family. After all, we are the SPN Family, right? This is a movie that is created for all ages. There’s the fantasy element, which will keep the biggest SPN fans happy, but there is humor, creepiness, and lightheartedness throughout. The kids will love it, your parents will enjoy actors like Kyle MacLaughlin and Cate Blanchett, and you’ll just love spotting all the Easter eggs.

Nobody is excluded in this movie. It will also be perfect for the Timeless fans!
