With Supernatural Season 14 less than three weeks away, it’s time to get yourself ready. That means you need a quick recap of the events from Supernatural Season 13.

I wish I could do a video breaking all this down. In my head, I’d give you a Supernatural Season 13 recap in like 13 points to remember, all in quick succession. Think like those funky recap videos you see for comedies and dramedies (drama-comedies).

Alas, I’m just not that skilled. So, I’m going to give you a quick recap of the events from the 13th season to get you ready for Supernatural Season 14. The premiere is less than three weeks away, the trailer is out, and it’s time to get uber excited.

More from Supernatural

I’m only going to run through the major events that will affect the Season 14 premiere. If you really want to know everything, I strongly suggest watching the episodes. With 19 days (not including today or the premiere date), you’ve got plenty of time to watch all 23 episodes of the season.

Okay, so the Supernatural Season 13 quick recap of the events. All in 13 points.

1. The Apocalypse World is a bad place

This is where everything started in the season for Mary and Lucifer. Apocalypse Michael was running the joint after winning the big showdown in that world but now he wanted a way to the other world. Cue Lucifer and Mary being held prisoner and tortured.

2. The Apocalypse World people

Jack got through the rift thanks to Kaia (a dreamwalker who was terrified of the Bad Place). He found Mary and they escaped Michael’s imprisonment. That led them to finding Bobby and the other hunters of this world. They became friends, fought together to stop the angels, and searched for a way to bring an end to Michael.

3. Lucifer escaped

Before Jack got there, Lucifer got back to his own world. He did lose some of his grace for that to happen thanks to Michael but found a way to power up through siphoning angel grace. He became a temporary ally to Sister Jo, ruled Heaven for a whole episode, and then disappeared to find Jack again.

4. The Winchesters struggled with loss of faith

At the start of Supernatural Season 13, Dean had lost faith. He needed a win after the loss of his mom, Castiel, and even Crowley. Just as his picked up, Sam lost faith. It was a constant battle to find Mary, keep Jack from harm, and just get on with the job.

5. Castiel came back from the dead

The Supernatural Season 12 finale saw both Castiel and Crowley die. Only one of those came back from the dead this time: Castiel. He managed to meet the Cosmic Entity in the Empty thanks to Jack waking him up. From there, Castiel annoyed the hell out of the Entity and was allowed to return to earth. Big cheer for all of us.

6. Billie is the new Death

Remember when Death died? Well, while nobody can replace Julian Richings, there is a New Death in town. It turns out that when Death is killed, the next reaper to die becomes Death. Now Billie knows how important the Winchesters are so it doesn’t sound like they’ll be going to the Empty any time soon.

7. Ketch and Rowena came back

There was a lot of people coming back from the dead. Ketch and Rowena came back in the same way. It turns out Ketch had met Rowena before and got the same spell put into his body. The Winchesters really should have burned his bones! Ketch played double-agent between the Winchesters and Asmodeus and Rowena just wanted to protect herself from Lucifer and get her son back. Both eventually joined the Winchesters.

8. Asmodeus didn’t last long

Asmodeus was the last Prince of Hell, but it wouldn’t last for long. He stepped in as the next ruler, attempted to raise the Shedim (lasted for a whole two seconds and never mentioned again), and then revealed that he’d kidnapped a surprisingly alive Gabriel. Once Gabriel escaped, Asmodeus was toast.

9. Apocalypse Kevin didn’t stand a chance

Without the Winchesters, Kevin didn’t stand a chance. We got to see him in the Apocalypse World, where he was working for Michael. Of course, Michael didn’t care about this human and sent him as a suicide bomber to get rid of Jack, Mary, and the others. It was a terrible moment (both for Kevin and just in general in writing) but we did get to see Jack’s wings protect Mary.

10. Charlie is back

As I said, a lot of dead characters returned in Supernatural Season 13. One of those was Charlie, but the Apocalypse World version of her. She worked with Ketch and grew to like him as a hunter but is now in our world with Rowena on a road trip. That’s going to be trouble!

11. The Wayward Sisters are out there

Supernatural Season 13 brought another backdoor pilot for a spin-off attempt. This time it was the Wayward Sisters. Jody and co. helped the Winchesters get out of the Bad Place. It led to Kaia dying but coming back as the Bad Place doppelganger. We don’t know how that’s going to continue but they are back in the 14th season.

12. Lucifer seems dead

It was a big mess trying to figure out who was on which side, but eventually Lucifer and Michael sided together against the Winchesters (after Michael killed Gabriel and Lucifer attempted to manipulate Jack). In the end, Lucifer stole Jack’s grace to power up and forced Jack and Sam to kill one another. Fortunately, Dean stepped in and Lucifer was killed. He looks dead, but this is Supernatural!

13. Michael doesn’t live up to his end of the bargain

Dean should have known with the way Michael betrayed Lucifer after getting through the rift, but Dean didn’t think he had a choice. After Michael’s vessel started fading, Dean said yes with the condition that it was to kill Lucifer and that’s it. In the end, Michael took over Dean’s body and is now somewhere out there to purify this new Earth.

And that’s where we’re left for Supernatural Season 14. The Apocalypse World people are in our world, Sam and Castiel will do anything to save Dean, Jack will do anything to stop Michael, and Michael!Dean is on a mission. Uh oh!
