The highly anticipated The Fosters spin-off, Good Trouble, debuts tonight on Freeform. Here’s how you can watch the Good Trouble series premiere live.
Oh, yes! I am excited that we will be seeing Callie and Mariana back on our TV screens on a weekly basis in Good Trouble. It’s been a while as The Fosters series finale was on June 6, 2018, so of course, we’ve missed the characters.
Brandon married Eliza, Jude was in college, the last that we knew Jesus was a contractor, and Callie and Mariana were in Los Angeles together in an apartment with their new jobs. Callie is a law clerk for Judge Wilson, and Mariana is a software engineer.

From seeing trailers and sneak peeks of Good Trouble, it looks like a pretty darn exciting season coming up. I’ve actually watched the pilot early as Freeform was kind enough to give it as a New Year gift for all the fans on Jan. 1 by releasing it on their network app, Hulu, and Xfinity.
It was good, but as I’ve recently written, it’s too edgy and sexy. That’s the total opposite of what The Fosters was, but I have to remember these are young adult women now and they’re not with their family every day. This now relates to young adults, which is great. I’m not going to complain much as, no matter what, I’m a loyal fan of both shows and I trust the writers. I swear sometimes I act like an old man.
The creators of The Fosters are returning for Good Trouble, which you know means that you are in good hands. I’m patiently waiting for Jesus, Stef and Lena, Brandon and of course Jude’s appearances.
I’m also sure the storylines will be great as the season goes on. Every show’s pilot and first seasons are where you have to be patient with as the writers have to get into their groove.
The synopsis for Good Trouble Season 1, Episode 1 is below, per Freeform:
"We pick up where “The Fosters” ended, 5 years in the future, with sisters Callie & Mariana graduating college and moving to downtown Los Angeles. Living with a group of friends in a community style living space, Callie and Mariana navigate the beginning of their careers—Callie clerking for a conservative judge and Mariana in the male-dominated tech space. The sisters and best friends will navigate love, sex, and the complicated relationships that come with living in a new city in your 20s."
