Richard Speight Jr. directing three episodes of Supernatural Season 15
Richard Speight Jr. is returning to the director’s chair not once but three times in Supernatural Season 15. Here’s all we know about his episodes so far.
We don’t always get to know about the directors of Supernatural ahead of the tech survey. In fact, sometimes, we don’t get to know until the episode airs! But we know of another director returning for Supernatural Season 15, and it’s someone you’re going to love.
Yes, Richard Speight Jr. is back in the director’s chair. He could be back as Gabriel but this hasn’t been confirmed or denied yet. However, back in the director’s chair has been officially confirmed, according to Nerds and Beyond.

He’ll direct three episodes of the final season. During a fan question during SPN Dallas, the actor and director confirmed that he would be doing Episode 7, Episode 12, and then another episode later in the teens. However, he doesn’t know what’s happening in the episodes.
While the episodes will be planned out by now and some may be written, some of the plans develop over the course of the episodes. Filming won’t finish until around March 2020.
And Speight Jr. isn’t just working on our series. He’ll be directing an episode of Lucifer’s final season. In fact, it’s Episode 7 of Lucifer Season 5 that he’s involved in.

Rich: As of now I’m doing 7, 12, and something later in the teens. I’m not sure on the last one. I do 7 of Supernatural then fly back to do episode 7 in Lucifer then I go back to film 12 for SPN. #SPNDallas
The question will be the directorial style he chooses to take for his episodes. He’s certainly a master at adapting for the episode but also bringing his own flair.
He joins Jensen Ackles, who is directing Episode 4 of the season. We’ll likely see Robert Singer back in the director’s chair, and there’s hope that Amanda Tapping will return as a director for at least one episode. Hey, maybe Eric Kripke — although that admittedly is more problematic than the others.
