How could Ruby return to Supernatural Season 15?

Jared Padalecki wants his wife to be in the final season of Supernatural. Genevieve Padalecki played Ruby, but how could she possibly return?

During San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Jared Padalecki shared that he’d love to see his wife return to the series for the final season. We know Genevieve Padalecki as Ruby (and as Fake Ruby in Season 6). Is it possible to bring Ruby back for Supernatural Season 15? How could that possibly work?

There is a genuine way to bring the demon back. One thing we have to remember is that Ruby was killed with her own knife in the Season 4 finale. As a demon, she would have been sent to the Empty, where all angels and demons go when they die.

The last we saw Billie, she’d gone into the Empty to wake Jack up. She needs his help for something now that God had decided to rip up the rule book and bring an end to the story.

Jack may not be the only being Billie is willing to bring back. Going to the Empty and waking Jack up opens the door to many other angels and demons from the past returning. One of those could be Ruby.

Of course, the idea of bringing Ruby back to help the Winchesters seems absurd. Her one goal was to release Lucifer. She worked as a double agent without anybody knowing to make sure the seals were broken and Lilith was killed to open the cage for Lucifer to escape. With Lucifer gone, why would she possibly help the Winchesters? Even to destroy God, what’s in it for her?

While it could certainly be possible to bring Ruby back, the writers will need to think about this carefully. What’s the end goal of bringing characters back and how could it serve the story?

Instead of Billie waking Ruby up, someone else could find a way to the Empty. Demons and angels working against the Winchesters could be woken up as a way to help God win. There’s still the question of why they would help, but at least this seems a little more likely than the likes of Ruby helping the Winchester brothers and Team Free Will.

Alternatively, we could see her return as Genevieve Padalecki. With the knowledge that God created all these different worlds, is it possible we’ll see “Our World” come up again, the one from Season 6? This could allow Fake Ruby to come back into the show. Or maybe we’ll see other universes come into play, bringing in various people from the past back onto the show.

With the use of alternate realities, anything truly is possible. However, there are only 20 episodes and they need to be used wisely to conclude the entire series. Please just make sure that any character brought back is going to serve that storyline to conclude everything.
