Season 11 of Bob’s Burgers has featured some wacky storylines. In the beginning half of the season, we saw a pandemic, a poopy Thanksgiving and even, Gene and Linda battling it out in what could be one of the show’s oddest episodes ever. Moving into the latter half of the season, it would only make sense for things to get even crazier and off-the-wall.

One constant from each Bob’s Burgers episode is how the Belcher family has stuck together. Even if they’re not always together, the Belchers somehow find a way to make things work. Looking back at “Die Card, or Card Trying,” the episode could have taken a drastically different turn if the family decided to leave Linda behind but they didn’t. Instead, the family decided to work together and find a way to get Linda and the camera free.

Even if the family doesn’t always agree, they still love and care for each other. Most notably, it’s clear Bob and Linda’s relationship is very strong. The two have been through so much together and things always seem to work out for those two. However, there can be a few missteps along with the ways or things the two do that end up backfiring as evidenced by Season 11, Episode 13.

Before talking about the episode and how it ended up being a parenting nightmare for Bob and Linda, there will be spoilers for the episode. Here’s everything you missed on Bob’s Burgers episode, “An Incon-wheelie-ent Truth.”

The episode starts off simple enough with the Belcher family going to the flea market with all of them on their individual missions. The family splits up with the kids going one way while Bob and Linda go the other. Things are going great until they find a huge wooly mammoth they got rid of while the kids were at school. Bob and Linda understandably start freaking out, knowing how upset the kids were to find out they got rid of it and getting caught up in their lie about the mammoth being at the roller rink.

Instead of fessing up, Bob and Linda use every trick in the book to try and distract the kids. The two decide to come up with a plan to have Linda distract the kids while Bob agrees to try and pay the mammoth to get rid of it before the kids can see. Bob eventually agrees to give the seller 30 free burgers and it’s going great until the kids overhear Bob and Linda’s conversation.

The kids try to pull one over on Bob and Linda so the two decide to play with Bob driving the kids while Linda decides to use Gayle as a way to get the mammoth there. Linda and Gayle are able to get there first and the manager decides to go along with the plan.

Things seem to go well until Gayle tells the kids the truth. Bob and Linda try to play it cool until the kids make them feel guilty. Eventually, Bob and Linda feel bad so they try to take the mammoth home but the manager wants to keep it but the kids want the rink to keep the mammoth. The episode ends with the family riding around the rink to say goodbye.

Let’s look at why the episode was a nightmare for Bob and Linda.

Ultimately, “An Incon-wheelie-ent Truth” showed two sides of a parental nightmare. First, it starts off with Bob and Linda getting rid of a toy only for it to show up again. Even though I’m not a parent, I can relate to that. You can try to get rid of something you dislike or something you’re tired of seeing before it either comes back to you or someone asks about it.

It’s incredibly frustrating especially when you’re just sick of it. For Bob and Linda, that mammoth was a huge waste of space and was something the kids didn’t even need.

The other nightmare came from the fact that it’s one of the few times where the kids actually realize their parents are wrong. Normally, most of us see our parents as people rather than just our parents at an older age.

For the Belchers, this is coming pretty early which isn’t always the best. Having Gayle there also added an entirely new layer to the problem as she was figuring out how much her parents truly lied to her. No doubt some parents can relate to that sentiment especially if you have younger kids.

Overall, the episode is a nightmare for all parties involved. However, in the end, the Belchers are able to let things go and realize that the mammoth isn’t that big of a deal. Instead, they’re happy to have had the time with the mammoth and are ready to let it go. While it seemed touch and go for Bob and Linda for a while, the kids ultimately redeemed themselves and proved that they did the right thing.

dark. Next. Will we get to see Bob’s Burgers: The Movie in 2021?

Being a parent isn’t easy as illustrated by previous episodes of Bob’s Burgers. Nevertheless, “An Incon-wheelie-ent Truth” takes things to an entirely new level. Even though things work out in the end, Bob and Linda haven’t always been so lucky.

It was nice to see the kids showing some maturity in how they dealt with what their parents did along with deciding to give up the mammoth to make others happy. That’s truly something the show has perfected and it’s nice to see things aren’t changing in that regard anytime soon.

Bob’s Burgers airs Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
