I think one of the most highly-anticipated Peacock releases in February 2024 is definitely Oppenheimer! The movie has been dominated awards shows like Golden Globes 2024, the Critics Choice Awards 2024, and we bet it’s going to do very well at the Oscars 2024. But that’s not all worth getting exciting about!
Peacock’s February 2024 slate includes a bunch of shows and movies being added to the streamer throughout the month. That includes older films like another of Christopher Nolan's movies, Inception, and Nicholas Sparks production Dear John, as well as series like new reality show Couple to Throuple and the premiere of Vanderpump Rules season 11!
But first, let’s start off with Oppenheimer as that’s the most exciting release this month! The movie debuted in theaters in July 2023, and we’ve been waiting for the film to come to streaming ever since. Oppenheimer begins streaming Friday, Feb. 16 on Peacock. Though I definitely don’t blame Universal Pictures for waiting. It’s been making great money at the box office!
Starring Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the biographical drama tells the story of how the theoretical physicist developed the world’s first nuclear weapons, including the atomic bomb, which were used in World War II. It’s up for 13 Academy Award nominations and has already won four Golden Globes. If you still haven’t watched the production, now’s your chance! We shared the trailer below:
Another new addition is Peacock Original Film Bosco, which is now streaming as of Feb. 2. Based on a true story, the movie is centered around Quawntay “Bosco Adams, played by actor Aubrey Joseph. When he gets locked up for over 30 years “for attempted possession of marijuana,” he “miraculously escapes” the maximum-security prison he’s in, per the synopsis.
He takes this risk to be at his first child’s birth, and he’s able to do so thanks to the help of a “lonely Missouri woman." Nikki Blonsky as Tammy, Tyrese Gibson as Tootie, Vivica A. Fox as Willa, Theo Rossi as Ramos, and Thomas Jane as Hunt round out the cast. Check out the trailer below:
Also to mark down on your calendar are two reality shows - one new and one returning. Fans are very excited for the premiere of Vanderpump Rules season 11, and it’s coming Wednesday, Feb. 7! The show first airs on Bravo on Tuesday nights, and is added to Peacock at 6 a.m. ET the next day. The Vanderpump crew will be dealing with the aftermath of Scandoval as each member of the friend group also deals with home life, careers, relationships, and more. Who’s ready!? Check out the first seven minutes from the premiere below:
An eccentric reality series coming to Peacock is Couple to Throuple on Thursday, Feb. 8. The show features four “curious couples” who decide to bring a third person into their relationship. Hosted by Scott Evans and featuring sex and relationship expert Shamyra Howard, the couples will “meet, mingle, and date a group of singles, many of whom are experienced in polyamory,” per the synopsis.
By the end, the couples will have to decide whether they’ll leave home as a throuple, a couple, or single. I mean, things get dramatic when you have to work on a relationship with one person. What tears, drama, and surprises will this series bring? We shared the trailer below:
