When Mandy Moore suffered a black eye injury, her TV husband Milo Ventimiglia showed his solidarity, and it’s beyond adorable.

More from This Is Us

It goes without saying that the cast and crew of This Is Us has become as close knit of a family as the Pearsons. Whether they go above and beyond to celebrate birthdays or support each other’s careers outside of their hit NBC series, they always show up for each other. Case in point: When Mandy Moore got a black eye, so did Milo Ventimiglia.

Late this week, Mandy Moore shared a photo of herself on Instagram, but she wasn’t teasing a new costume from Rebecca Pearson’s closet or posting a set of glam looks. In place of her usually uplifting content, Moore was sporting an injured eye after an accident with her shower door handle. Stars, they’re just like us! But she didn’t go through her injury without the loving support and solidarity from her This Is Us hair and makeup team and, who else, her on-screen hubby.

Following the image of her black eye, Mandy Moore posted a screenshot of a group text conversation between hairstylist Michael Reitz, makeup artist Zoe Hay, and Milo Ventimiglia. Moore’s better half sent a selfie of the trio in the hair and makeup trailer with fake black eyes and said, “Solidarity.” Moore clearly couldn’t get enough of their love, and neither can we.

Moore first shared the news of her black on Instagram on Friday with a picture of a nasty bruise on her right eyelid with a stitched cut below her eyebrow. Along with the photo she wrote:

"“Shower door handle- 1, Mandy- 0. Real talk: how does a girl get rid of a black eye pronto? Any helpful hints (minus ice and arnica??). Thanks @stokerplasticsurgery for coming in at 9pm to sew me up!! Never had stitches or a black eye before… what a day!”"

Since sustaining and announcing the injury, Moore has kept her fans updated on the recovery process on her Instastory. The This Is Us star has been watching YouTube videos of remedies, one of which included rubbing an egg on the eye… which she tried. Fingers crossed it works!

If there’s a silver lining for Mandy Moore and her black eye injury, it’s that she will have plenty of time to heal over the Labor Day long weekend. Unfortunately, it’s probably not how she anticipated she would be spending the holiday weekend, but at least she won’t have to spend extra extra time in the makeup chair ensuring Rebecca doesn’t also have bruising. At any rate, we wish Mandy a speedy recovery! We’ll all rock a black eye in solidarity like Milo for you.

This Is Us returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 9/8c on NBC.
