No one celebrates a co-star birthday quite like Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore took to Instagram to wish her on-screen daughter Mackenzie Hancsicsak a happy birthday, and proved she’s the best at helping her This Is Us co-stars celebrate their big days!

Happy birthday, Mackenzie Hancsicsak! The young star who plays pre-teen Kate on This Is Us turns 10, and officially enters the double digits. Where else would a kid want to spend their big birthday than the set of television’s buzziest new show? Follow up: Who else would she want to help ring in her new decade than Mandy Moore?

Well, since she’s 10, she would probably prefer whomever stands as the Disney Channel’s current biggest star or perhaps Fifth Harmony. But as far as co-stars go, Mandy Moore never goes halfway when wishing her fellow cast members a happy birthday, and we’re insanely jealous. Back in July, Mandy Moore showered her on-screen husband Milo Ventimiglia with the sweetest, and quite potentially tear-jerking, birthday message. And this week, Mama Pearson doled out the adorable happy birthdays for one of the Big Three. We might as well keep the tears flowing in preparation for the Season 2 premiere in September!

“Happy 10th Birthday to my sweet baby ‘Kate,’ Mackenzie Hancsicsak! Here’s hoping it’s the best year yet!!” Moore wrote on Instagram alongside of an image of herself with Hancsicsak and Parker Bates (young Kevin). Yes, those are tears in all of our eyes. Next question.

Clearly, the This Is Us family doesn’t skimp when it comes to birthdays whether they fall during the summer or on a workday. Particularly, Moore shows us how it’s done with her heartfelt pair of birthday messages. Where do we sign up to get b-day shout outs from Mandy Moore?

But Mackenzie Hancsicsak didn’t simply receive love from her on-screen mom on social media. Chrissy Metz, who plays present day Kate on This Is Us, posed alongside her younger self in a picture on Instagram with an equally sweet message.

And to be honest, we should be tripped up by this Pearson time travel on Chrissy Metz’s Instagram. We expect some timeline jumping from This Is Us, but what if the Big Three interacted with their 10-year-old counterparts?
