Will Danneel Ackles return as Sister Jo in Supernatural Season 14?

There are many questions about Supernatural Season 14. One of those is about Danneel Ackles returning as Sister Jo.

Many fans were excited to learn that Jensen Ackles’ wife, Danneel Ackles, would join the cast of Supernatural as a recurring character in the 13th season. It had been something she’s hinted at if the show ever got that far and held up to her side of the bargain. To my disappointment, she was only in two episodes, so I was naturally curious as to whether Sister Jo (angel name Anael) would return for Supernatural Season 14.

There’s no official confirmation as of yet, but there have been hints. During Supernatural’s Pittsburgh con, Mark Pellegrino hinted at some of the things to come. One of those was Danneel returning as the angelic First Lady.

This makes sense. We’ve had hints that the Heaven storyline would continue. Considering the big deal made about it at the end of the 13th season, it has to continue and the best way to do it would be to bring the angels introduced for that storyline. That means Duma, Naomi, and Sister Jo.

Where will Anael be in Heaven right now? Well, who says she’s actually in Heaven? She returned with Lucifer, making it clear that he could help the major situation. In the end, Lucifer had lied and Anael walked away from him. The other angels probably don’t appreciate being made to look like fools, which means they’ll turn against her.

Plus, Anael had made a life for herself on Earth. Why does she need to be in Heaven to see it crumble? Why not continue to follow her business while she still can? She can create a nest egg to survive when Heaven does completely closed down and disappear–that’s if the leftover angels will still be around after that happens.

Pellegrino has hinted that Danneel will return, but not said when. That’s the only hint we’ve had so far.
