Jack stops everyone from lying in the Supernatural Season 14 finale. Meanwhile, a fan-favorite returns but will he help out? Here’s what happened in Moriah.

The Supernatural Season 14 was nothing less than epic. “Moriah” quickly got into the main focus for the night, kicking off with the epic “Carry On My Wayward Son” to flash us through the season. Then we picked up exactly where we left in “Jack in the Box,” with Jack getting out of the box.

Fortunately, he didn’t kill the Winchesters and Castiel. Well, we knew that couldn’t really happen — yeah, dead doesn’t stay dead but c’mon, killing and bringing back in a few minutes woud be crazy even for Supernatural. Instead, Jack takes off and it’s time to find him.

The inability to lie

After all the lies he’s been told, Jack took off from the bunker. However, he found himself annoyed that everyone would like. “Stop lying,” he shouted and suddenly nobody could lie.

Literally, nobody in the entire world could lie. And yes, the world goes as crazy as you would think. Lies make the world go ’round.

As Castiel tries to get into Hell to check out the Cage (assuming Jack is getting put there?), who should show up but Chuck! He’s not happy with the current situation and gets Team Free Will together to share that he’ll be around to help stop apocalypses and this is an apocalypse.

It’s up to Team Free Will to take Jack out. But at least Chuck manages to let the world lie again. Yes, God is more powerful than Jack.

Chuck gives the Winchesters a job

Chuck needs the Winchesters to take care of Jack — literally kill Jack. There’s a catch. The gun he gives them isn’t filled with bullets. Whoever kills Jack will sacrifice themselves, too. And God isn’t at all sorry about his actions.

Well, it’s not surprising to find out that Dean is willing to sacrifice himself to kill Jack. Castiel doesn’t want to, though. He (and even Sam) is sure that Jack can be saved. Castiel heads off to find Jack, who has just visited his Kline grandparents to find out they checked up on him and know he never worked with Kelly. Don’t worry, Jack didn’t kill them, showing that he does have something.

It’s not surprising that Castiel steps between Jack and Dean to protect Jack. However, Jack doesn’t like that and uses his powers to blast Castiel off to one side to face Dean.

As Jack admits that he understands why Dean wants to kill him, Dean sees the goodness in him. Sam and Chuck appear to watch but Dean decides to throw the gun away. He can’t kill Jack. He won’t kill Jack.

The truth about Chuck and the Winchesters

And finally, all the truth comes out. Previously, to distract Sam so Dean could go to kill Jack, Chuck admitted that the Winchesters are “his favorite show” and the favorite version of the brothers out of all the other universes. It’s then that Sam realizes that they’re just characters in Jack’s story. When he tells Dean and Castiel the truth, it’s not surprising they’re angry.

Dean continues to refuse to kill Jack. Even when Chuck offers to bring Mary back, he refuses because this isn’t what Mary would want. But this isn’t how the story was supposed to go. So, Chuck snaps his fingers and something happens to Jack and his grace (well, the stolen grace from Michael).

Sam decides to pick up the gun that Chuck had given them and shoots Chuck. Well, the original Death (loved the mention of the original Death vs. new God) did say he’d reap God one day.

The bullet ricochets off God and hits Sam in the shoulder. He’s certainly not happy about this. The story is now over and we’re officially into the end. With a snap of his fingers, the world goes dark and we learn that God killed Jack.

You didn’t think it was over, did you?

What will “the end” be? Well, it’s very quickly clear. Souls from Hell are released and the dead starts walking the Earth. Better yet, we get some flashes of the vengeful spirits and monsters of the past.

Of course, the Winchesters and Castiel are in a graveyard and the dead literally start coming to life. Armed with iron fence poles and an angel blade, they get ready to fight and it looks like an episode of The Walking Dead. This would certainly open the chance for Lauren Cohan to return for Supernatural Season 15.

As for Jack, well, it’s not over for him either. He wakes up in The Empty, where the Cosmic Entity is waiting for him, but not to gloat or get him to go back to sleep. Billie has turned up and she needs to talk to Jack.
