A breakdown of the live TV ratings on broadcast on Thursday, Dec. 3

Thursdays are among the safest nights for TV shows right now. The live TV ratings have been mostly consistent, and where there have been dips, the shows are still some of the strongest on their respective networks.

I doubt there is little to worry about when it comes to the shows. However, we will take a look at the most notable ratings across the night.

TGIT continues to perform well on ABC

More from Ratings

While the three TGIT shows did drop in the ratings, they remain strong shows for the network. Station 19 kicked off the drops with a loss of 20% in the demo, but that was still at a 0.8 rating, matching CBS’s Young Sheldon.

The audience fell by almost 5%, but it remains above five million. The show is also one of the strongest on ABC overall.

Then there’s Grey’s Anatomy, which also fell by almost 5% in the total audience and fell 7% in the demo. Yet, the 5.67 million viewers and the 1.2 rating were the top for the timeslot. The demo rating was the top of the night.

The only thing that will lead to this show ending is if Ellen Pompeo walking away. She has a decision to make this season.

And A Million Little Things continued with dips in the metrics. The 14% dip in the demo could be concerning, but it was still the strongest of the timeslot. Right now, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.

CBS’s comedy lineup continues to perform well

When it comes to the new episodes, CBS is the only other network we’re concerned the most about on Dec. 3. Other networks had specials, soccer, or shows that we just know are going to be renewed (World’s Funniest Animals is going to be a strong rerun show for The CW).

Young Sheldon won the night with its steady audience. The demo also remained steady to be joint second of the night and joint first in the timeslot.

New comedy B Positive also performed well. It remained steady in both metrics. While the show is around the middle for all CBS shows, the position on a Thursday night is strong. After a few years of struggling comedies, I think CBS has found one like The Unicorn to renew.

Speaking of The Unicorn, the series was the worst performer of the night on CBS. It dropped 7% in the total audience, pulling in 3.62 million viewers. This is concerning, but hopefully, the first season being on Netflix will help to show there is an audience if CBS can get in front of it.
