It’s been nearly 10 years since Mandy Moore last released an album with 2009’s folk-pop spectacular Amanda Leigh. Since then, her most loyal fans have been clamoring for the former teen pop sensation to release more instant-classic songs and underrated bops with accompanying memorable music videos. Thankfully, NBC’s This Is Us has provided an opportunity for our “Candy” girl to sing once again.

As tried and true members of the ugly crying club know, Mandy Moore’s This Is Us character Rebecca Pearson allows the triple threat to use her voice rather often, and our ears are beyond thankful. Even though Rebecca’s pursuit of singing stardom creates a point of contention in her marriage, the creative outlet allows Rebecca to become personally fulfilled outside the home and express herself in ways that mothering simply cannot. And as iconic as Rebecca Pearson might be on her local tour, Mandy Moore eclipses her on-screen counterpart, and we have her newest cover song from the series to prove it.

In case you missed the good news, the official soundtrack for the first season of This Is Us will be released on Friday, Sept. 15, a little more than one week removed from the Season 2 premiere. Obviously, it wouldn’t be a This Is Us soundtrack if Mandy Moore didn’t lend her vocals to the tracklist, and she sure delivered. Performing a cover of Little Feat’s “Willin’,” Moore sounds as amazing as ever. Dare we say we want more?

You’ll remember that Moore sang “Willin'” in Episode 5 of This Is Us’ first season ahead of the Super Bowl party that provided the setting for the Big Three’s conception. Of all of the songs the singer-songwriter-actress has performed on the Emmy-nominated series, “Willin'” might be the most meaningful for that very reason. It doesn’t hurt that Mandy Moore’s cover transforms the acoustic ballad into a piano-led full-band singalong. Give her a Grammy!
