This Is Us season 2 spoilers: Episode 16 synopsis reveals Kevin’s new movie

NBC has released a small glimpse at This Is Us Season 2, Episode 16 with a look at the official synopsis. What’s next for the Pearsons?

Although there’s no word on a title for Season 2, Episode 16 of This Is Us, we don’t have to wait anymore for the synopsis of the drama’s highly anticipated return hour. Since wrapping its biggest story arc to date after the Super Bowl, information on the final three episodes of the second season have been scarce. Photos, loglines, titles — nothing to be found online save for Mandy Moore’s very generous behind the scenes teases on set.

However, we were able to dig up the synopsis for Episode 16, the hour immediately following the episode featuring Jack’s funeral, and even though it gives nothing away, its brevity speaks volumes. This Is Us has always been marvelous at building up greatness from the purest droplets of reality, and the tradition will continue when Season 2, Episode 16 arrives to make us cry (or maybe laugh… hey, we’re headed to Vegas!).

What can we expect from This Is Us when the series ambles back into our lives after the Olympics? Well, apart from everything we have already discussed, it appears as though things are changing for Kevin, Kate, and Randall, and potentially for the better. With Kevin getting back on the horse and Randall receiving some news, we’re in for a compelling season send-off.

Let’s break this down. “Kate visits Kevin on the set of his movie.” Is it a new movie or the same Ron Howard movie he had to pull out of due to his injury? Will his recovery pose a threat to his career? “Randall and Beth get exciting news.” Is this news building related or Deja related? Has their business seen success and/or has Deja come back for good? “Rebecca tries to reconnect with Jack.” Here’s the obvious question: In the past or the present?

Clearly, there will be lots to dig into when the Olympics wrap and This Is Us drops its latest episodes. But it’s wonderful to learn that Kevin will be getting back to work and Kate remains supportive. Still, it begs the question: Is Kevin filming in Las Vegas, and does it have anything to do with Magic Mike Live? Look, after Justin Hartley’s risque turn in A Bad Moms Christmas, nothing is off limits!
