Hope to see Eric Kripke write an episode of Supernatural Season 15? Don’t count on it. Eugenie Ross-Leming shares why it likely won’t happen.
We all have hopes for the final season of Supernatural. While there has been a lot of talk about certain characters returning, there is one wish we all have. That is to see Eric Kripke return, whether as a director or a writer for an episode. Eugenie Ross-Leming spoke about this at SDCC 2019 and it’s sad news.
The executive producer on the show doesn’t think that Kripke will return. That’s not because he doesn’t want to but because he doesn’t have the time. He’s an extremely busy man. Supernatural helped to push him into an exciting future and he is currently working on The Boys Season 2.

Ross-Leming’s comments support those that Kripke said last month. He made it clear that as much as he loves the show, he won’t likely be a part of the final season in the way we’d like. However, he is talking with Bob Singer and others about the ending. After all, this is his baby and he knows what the fans are likely going to want in the end—he also knows the ending he envisioned long ago.
While discussing the hope of Kripke coming back, Eugenie Ross-Leming also looked back on when the show started. She and Brad Buckner co-wrote an “emergency script” in the first season but they didn’t join the team until Season 8. However, she was always a part of the show through her husband, Bob Singer.
Singer and Kripke spent time discussing whether they would do the show long before we got to see it. It took time for them both to decide to work together, but we can safely say that time was worth it.
"“The odd thing that I keep flashing back on is when Erik [Kripke] first came to meet Bobby [Bob Singer] and they were deciding whether they were going to do the show together. Eric had created it but he needed help with the showrunning. So he and Bobby had multiple meetings and I just stayed in the background…[Eric] was young, and kind of shy…and very sweet and I thought someone’s going to eat him up.”"
Ross-Leming continued to speak on how Kripke and Singer respected each other. The two created an excellent partnership, and now we have the show today.

The EP didn’t share much about Supernatural Season 15. Out of all the EPs, Eugenie Ross-Leming is often the one to keep spoilers close to her heart, which makes things far more exciting for the fans. However, she has shared that Billie will be back after that tease in the Empty at the end of Season 14, which should mean some answers about why she needs Jack.
