The CW has officially entered a new era, which should come as no surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention to the news concerning the network. Not only are they up for sale, but they cancelled ten of their shows in 2022. As such, long time viewers of the network should brace for the changes coming down the pipe.

If you’re a fan of superhero TV on The CW, don’t worry. CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz has made assurances that the network is still very much in the superhero business. When speaking on a press call ahead of CW Upfront 2022, Pedowitz had the following to say:

"We started with one — this was ‘Arrow’ 10 years ago — we have now moved to create a whole bunch of superheroes. And we’re proud of it and we plan to stay in that business. No matter what the outcome is, with any event of sale or no sale. I think the Warner side realizes the value of having these properties up. DC Comics realizes the value of what it does to their marketability, in terms of what these franchises are."

However, this doesn’t mean superhero TV will continue to dominate the fall line-up on the network. The CW fall schedule for the 2022-2023 television year clearly denotes our new reality. Only Stargirl season 3 will bow this fall. The Flash season 9, Superman and Lois season 3, and the premiere of the new series Gotham Knights are being held until 2023.

In their place, new series–The Winchesters and Walker Independence–will air. Also, for the first time, shows The CW acquired are taking up prime real estate on the schedule. This includes Professionals, starring Tom Welling and Brendan Fraser, which will hold down the fort with The Winchesters on Tuesdays.

Of course, this means the end of Super Tuesdays on the network…at least in the fall. Like we said, it’s a new ear for The CW. Check out the full schedule below!
