Will there be a Riverdale/The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossover?
Riverdale star Madchen Amick (Alice Cooper) sparks possible crossover rumors with Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina after posting a behind-the-scenes photo from set.
The writers of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina have been craftily teasing a shared universe with The CW’s Riverdale since the former’s first season. But have they made the decision to go all-in next season and include at least one character crossover? The answer to that question is looking pretty positive.
On July 4th, Riverdale‘s Madchen Amick (who portrays Alice Cooper on the hit CW show) posted a picture on Instagram (see further below) from the Vancouver set of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. While unconfirmed, fans of the two programs have been quick to speculate that the long-awaited crossover is finally happening.
The two Archie Comics programs were originally developed as companion series, but soon after Riverdale writers decided on a different direction, CAoS made the jump to Netflix and all hopes for immediate universe building were squashed. The many Easter egg Riverdale references that were included in CAoS’ first season brought new hope, but with no definite plans, according to Archie Comic CEO, Tom Goldwater in 2018, this hope was nothing more than a pipe dream.

In addition to her possible cameo in Season 2, Episode 4 of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Amick will be working behind the camera as she shadows director Viet Nguyen. The inclusion of a promising hashtag “#AliceCooperMadameSatanCrossover” in her announcement post (see below) on June 27 hints at some additional on-camera duties for Amick.

Since it’s pretty clear that there is a shared universe concerning The Chilling Adventure of Sabrina, can we expect a possible crossover to be in the cards with the upcoming Riverdale spinoff Katy Keane? Because Katy Keane is set “several years ahead” of Riverdale, if, or rather when, characters from Riverdale appear in the series, “they’d come as their older self” as stated by CW president, Mark Pedowitz.
Maybe Alice Cooper and Madame Satan have crossed paths before and we’ll see them together in a flashback? What other business would Alice have in Greendale? If you have any predictions, let us know in the comments below or shoot us a tweet @HiddenRemote!
