If you haven’t heard, Xena Warrior Princess, Lucy Lawless, has a new TV show. And it’s a show that you simply won’t want to miss. My Life Is Murder debuts on Acorn TV on Monday with its first two episodes, and it’s time to delve in why it’s a must-watch.

It’s not all about the Xena star. This is a series for those who never watched the 1990s TV show and those who adored it alike. It’s a murder mystery at heart, but one with a twist and that’s where we start with the five reasons to check out the new series.

5. Private eye works with the police

Most of the time with private eye shows, you see the police trying to hold back on sharing information. They don’t want someone else figuring out the truth, and it hinders the case further. Of course, eventually, the P.I. proves they were needed. Just look at Veronica Mars.

This is where My Life Is Murder is immediately different. The show isn’t about private eye and police working against each other. Lawless’ character, Alexa Crowe, is pulled into cases because of her connection to the police force. She’s an ex-cop, which means she has good relationships with former colleagues and they know just how great she is at her job.
